Jennett Memorial Centre combines the warmth of the historical charm of the original home built in the early 1900’s with the feeling of space achieved from the various improvements and expansions made over the years. We welcome you to tour our facilities by visiting our location or you can browse our on-line photo gallery below.

Maintaining much of the character of the historical aspects of the building has created visitation rooms that have a warm and comfortable feeling often associated with a home. The spacious visitation set-up allows 2 visitations to take place at one time or it can be opened up into one space for larger gatherings. During visitation, our coffee lounge is available, offering a modern, cafe style decor. Coffee and a selection of teas and hot drinks are available for those who would like to relax away from the formal visitation area. 

TRADITIONAL VISITATION

A tradition of visitation with the casket present is the right option for many families that we look after. Visitation can take place with the casket open or closed. In addition,  a private open casket visitation can be scheduled prior to the announced visitation allowing the family to select who is in attendance. Families may also choose to accompany the casket with items such as pictures, flowers, personal mementos, videos etc.

MEMORIAL GATHERINGS AND VISITATIONS

Jennett Memorial Centre recognizes that not all families wish to have a traditional visitation. For some families, a non-traditional method of celebrating memories is important. Our visitation areas can be set-up absent of the casket, allowing people to meet with the family during a specified time. The additional option of holding the gathering in our reception area is extended to families who would like to share memories over a cup of coffee accompanied with a selection of finger foods. Please refer to our Coffee Lounge and Reception Facilities page. The funeral home provides a convenient location that alleviates the stress related to setting up, tidying up afterwards and parking concerns that may be associated at their personal home. The funeral home provides an atmosphere that is comfortable and appropriate for celebrating memories and the expressing of sympathy between family, friends and acquaintances. Equally important as the venue is the professional services provided by our funeral directors and support staff. Our funeral directors have selected a career that focuses on the memorialization of a life lived; we can guide families in creating a celebration that is unique and meaningful. We offer the same level of professionalism at locations outside of the funeral home; we can assist with planning a gathering or service at any location.

MEMORIALIZATION OPTIONS

There are many benefits of having Jennett Memorial Centre assist in the Celebration of Memories. We have available items to assist in creating a memorable event.

• We have a magnetic picture board system allowing families to create a collage of photos reducing the risk of photo damage often associated with the use of pins or tape.
  
• All funeral, visitation and gathering packages include a full stationery package which includes a selection of personalized register books, keepsake memorial folders, and thank you cards. It should also be noted that the stationery package is available to families who are holding their event absent of our staff at a location outside of the funeral home, or if a family has used a funeral home that does not provide these services. Items can be selected separately; there is no requirement to take the entire package.
  
• We offer a selection of flower stands, picture frames & stands, easels, tables and other equipment that assists in making a memorable event. Please note that use of our equipment is only provided for events where our staff will be present; we do not loan out our equipment.
  
• Our incorporated audio system offers microphone with lectern, CD, cassette, DVD audio and connectivity for an MP3 player. Our flat screen television with built-in DVD player can also be connected to a laptop.
  

PARKING

Plenty of parking is available on our lot. For larger gatherings, free street parking is available on the smaller, residential streets located off Bradford Street.

ACCESSIBILITY

Our visitation rooms and chapel are located on the main level, accessible by a ramp directly off of our parking lot. A washroom is available on the main level, equipped with a baby change station. Our upper level lounge is accessible by chairlift for those who have difficulty with stairs.
