Visiting grandma at the house on Preston and always seeing her waving from the window as we drove away. She would wave until we couldn't see her anymore.
And her candy drawer, that had me believing she worked in a candy factory throughout my childhood.
I remember talking with her like she was my closest friend, sharing my secrets, laughing til I cried and hearing so many stories of her life and experiences. We had little things in common: use too much salt, don't like socks, both are people watchers and other silly things that I couldn't be happier than to share those traits with her. She was someone I could always open up to and be myself with and someone I loved with all my heart. I feel truly lucky to be her granddaughter and to have been so involved in her final years.
