It is with heavy hearts that our family announce the passing of our Grandma "Joan" Briggs. She was the "fun Grandma", the one that made us all laugh when family gatherings got too serious. She was the one that was always game for a sleepover, the one who always thought it was a great idea to play dress up with her jewelry and dress up in her discolored wedding gown. Grandma was always good for a joke, lots of laughs and a beer or 5 with good music. She also gave the best hugs!
Joan was well known to the community as she wasn't the least bit shy and would spark up a conversation with anyone. It didn't matter who you were - she had 86 stories to tell you (probably why her grocery trips took all day...). Grandma managed the Tim Horton's at the 5 points for several years and before that the one on Essa Road, so as you can imagine she made several friends throughout the years.
As you are aware, we are unable to have a service for her at this time due to Covid. We will keep everyone updated on a memorial service as it gets closer.
Fly with the angels Grandma with the fog gone and your mind clearer than ever before. We love you ...oh wait I have a story from the day this picture was taken. I had complimented her on her shirt as it looked really good on her, she stiffened up and got all tough looking and said "Why? Cause it's purple! Well you can't have it!" That was always our thing because we both loved purple. Just wanted to share that xoxo
